Caister Community Larder is supported by Caister Primary Federation to help families that are in need or at crisis point. Families of children who attend our schools can be helped if they are unable to access the existing foodbanks, due to their opening hours, difficulty with transport or other reasons.

A typical food parcel includes:

    • Cereal
    • Soup
    • Pasta
    • Rice
    • Tinned tomatoes/ pasta sauce
    • Lentils, beans and pulses
    • Tinned meat
    • Tinned vegetables
    • Tea/coffee
    • Tinned fruit
    • Biscuits
    • UHT milk
    • Fruit juice
    • Non-food items like toiletries and hygiene products

If you would like to donate items for our Community Larder then these dropped off at reception in both our infant and junior schools.

In addition to the links we have forged with local supermarkets, Asda and Lidl, our Community Larder is signed up to ‘Neighbourly’; an award-winning giving platform that helps businesses make a positive impact in their communities. Part of their work is to ensure that supermarket product surplus is put to good use in the community – whether it’s food and drink or toiletries, books and household goods.

We recognise that asking for help isn’t always easy so we want to make this sensitive situation as stress-free and easily accessible as possible.
