Welcome

Thank you for taking the time to view our website, and I warmly welcome you to Oceans Specialist Resource Base. I am thrilled to be spearheading the development of this brand new resource, within the support and guidance of Caister Primary Federation.

Our purpose-built base consists of 2 large classrooms, a practical space for cooking, art and so on, plus a number of smaller rooms for interventions, sensory experiences and calming time. We have our own outdoor space, whilst also being able to access the wider school grounds and forest school area. We have worked hard to create an environment that is welcoming, calming and inclusive- a place where all children can feel safe and able to learn.

Through many years teaching in mainstream education, I have seen first-hand how challenging it can be for some pupils to be successful in a mainstream setting. I firmly believe that all children can flourish when they have access to an environment that is appropriate for their needs, and they are supported by experienced and attuned adults. We place a high importance on play, investigation and exploration, and using outdoor space to strengthen connections with nature, and ultimately ourselves.

Our purpose here is to provide a bespoke package of support and learning to each pupil, their family and their home school, therefore leading to positive change and development that can last a lifetime.
