Key Information

Contact

If you need to speak to a member of staff, please phone the main school on 01493 378300 and ask to be put through to the SRB. We will be available from 8.30am if you need to speak to us ahead of your child arriving at the base for the day.

You can also email Leanne Cahill, lead teacher, on lcahill@caisterprimaryfederation.org (hours of work 7.30am-5.30pm, Monday-Friday) if you have any comments or questions.

We will communicate daily via tapestry, an online learning journal. We will be able to upload photos and explanations of any learning that has taken place during the day. In the same way, you can share activities or events from home.

An admissions document will be sent to you that you will need to complete online.

If you require any paper copies of the information present on this website, please contact the main office admin@caisterprimaryfederation.org

School Day

Our school hours are 8:45am to 2:45pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday.

We have found that children benefit from spending one day a week at their home school (Wednesdays), so they still feel part of their school, and we will plan a careful transition back into their mainstream school after 2- 4 terms. This will involve them spending more days back at their home school as their placement continues.

All staff in the SRB are Norfolk Steps trained and we undergo refresher training every 12 months. This consists of Step On training which focuses on de-escalation and preventative strategies. Step Up training supports staff in effectively and safely dealing with harmful behaviour.

Lunch

The children can bring a packed lunch with them, or they can order a meal from the main school here at Caister.

Please make sure that the children have a water bottle each day.

We will offer toast and fruit as a snack each morning (please make sure we are aware of any allergies).

At the end of each day we will enjoy hot chocolate together, and reflect back on the successes of the day.

Uniform

Please provide a pair of wellies or old trainers that can be left at the base for outdoor exploring!

On Mondays we will use the outdoor learning area. You may wish to send old clothes that they can change into as we will be getting muddy! Please make sure that they have a warm coat to wear too.

Fridays will be our PE day. Please send shorts, jogging bottoms and a t-shirt.

The children can wear their uniform from their home school, or if you prefer you can just send them in a plain white polo shirt or navy/black jumper.
