Welcome to Caister Junior School

A very warm welcome.

We hope our website provides you with an insight into what makes us Caister Junior School.

At Caister Junior we are proud to call ourselves an inclusive school, where everybody is welcome, and we will do all we can to ensure your family is catered for, regardless of background or need.

Our staff are committed to promoting the very highest standards across our rich and varied curriculum and we are always planning and developing ambitious and exciting opportunities for the children at our school.

We teach English and maths each day to equip the children with conceptual understanding and the skills they need to access other areas of learning and open the doors to success. Our curriculum is based on termly themes in each year group; these incorporate the chronological teaching of history and geography. All other subjects are taught in individual lessons so the children have a comprehensive understanding of each subject and can work as scientists for example. The aim of this themed approach is to capture the interest of our children by making their learning meaningful and equipping them to be independent, successful learners who are inquisitive about the world they live in.

We work closely with you as a family to ensure all children reach their potential and have plenty of opportunities to develop and build on their interests along with their ever-growing skills and knowledge. We model ambition and what high quality learning looks like across our curriculum and pride ourselves on celebrating the achievements of all of our wonderful pupils throughout their time with us.

We work hard to ensure everyone at our school shows respect for each other, so that our school builds on the happy, secure foundations that are already in place. Firm in our belief that children come first, we want their journey with us to challenge them within a supportive and nurturing environment so that their independence, confidence and life-long skills are also something they leave us with.

As you know, parental involvement is vital as your child progress through the school and we value that positive relationship. We provide many opportunities for you to visit and talk with us as well as chances for children to showcase their fantastic work each term. We always welcome your feedback and see your child’s education as a two-way partnership.

We very much look forward to working with you as the children take their next steps in their education with us.
